|  | TWO KEY HOUSEMISTRESS POSITIONS
September 2006
We are seeking two well-qualified, enthusiastic teachers with a genuine interest in pastoral work to join our lively and forward-looking pastoral team. The successful candidates will relish the company of young people and have patience, quick understanding, stamina, a sense of humour and a passionate desire to fulfil this vital role. There is a dedicated team of teaching Housemistresses working under the overall direction of the Senior Housemistress.
Housemistress of Clarence (UVI) House
The Clarence experience provides an important transition to university. There are two Clarence Housemistresses who work in close liaison and each has responsibility for half the UVI girls during their final year at Wycombe. There is support from the Resident Tutor, the Clarence Administrator and the resident Head of Sixth Form
Housemistress of a Senior House
Each of the nine Senior Houses has approximately forty-five 12-17 year olds. There is support in the House from a resident Matron who helps to keep domestic routines running smoothly, as well as from a shared Resident Tutor.
Rent-free accommodation is provided all year round, in a self-contained flat, with free board during term time. Wycombe Abbey has its own pay scale; salary will be in line with a candidate's qualifications and experience.
