 Achievements within the Diocese
The diocese has a very active Education Centre in Lancaster, staffed by well-qualified and experienced professionals. The Centre provides a service of ongoing in-service and pastoral support for teachers and school governors and a parallel service for parish-based adult education. A substantial part of the cost of the service is sustained by a scheme to which all the dioceses' schools contribute voluntarily.
Potential Developments
The diocese is currently developing a programme of Continuing Professional Development for all teachers in its schools.

The diocese consists of seven discrete ‘pastoral areas': Preston, Wyre and Fylde, Lancaster & Morecambe, Barrow-in-Furness, Carlisle, North-west Cumbria, The Lakes.
